Dr. Edward Chu is board certified cardiologist who specializes in cardiac electrophysiology (heart rhythm disorders). His areas of expertise include ablation procedures, particularly for atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter, left atrial appendage occlusion, and implantation of pacemakers/defibrillators. He is actively working to establish an Atrial Fibrillation Center of Excellence, which aims to streamline medical care for patients with atrial fibrillation.

Dr. Chu is a native Floridian from Orlando. He graduated from Duke University with a degree in biomedical and electrical engineering, and subsequently worked for Medtronic as a specialist in pacemakers and defibrillators. He attended medical school at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and received numerous distinctions upon graduation, including election to Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed residency in Boston at Massachusetts General Hospital, the hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School. He then returned to Mount Sinai Hospital for cardiology fellowship and advanced training in cardiac electrophysiology. During this time, he served as Chief Fellow and worked closely with several prominent cardiologists including Dr. Valentin Fuster and Dr. Vivek Reddy. After assisting with the Covid-19 pandemic in New York City, he moved to Miami in 2021. He continues to work closely with physicians from New York and Boston.

Dr. Chu remains active in national leadership activities, medical research, and community outreach. He currently serves in several leadership positions for the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and is a columnist for the ACC Cardiology magazine. His recent publications have focused on novel and emerging treatments for heart rhythm disorders. He also serves as a premedical advisor to Harvard University students who are interested in becoming physicians.
