Dr. Javier Jimenez is currently the Director of Advanced Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension at South Miami Hospital. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Hebert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University and Clinical Professor at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.
He obtained his medical degree and PhD at the University of Alcala de Henares in Madrid, Spain. Dr. Jimenez then fulfilled an Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and completed additional fellowships in Advanced Heart Failure/Cardiac Transplantation at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio and in Interventional Cardiology at Brown University. Dr. Jimenez has published extensively and participated in multiple national and international clinical trials.
Dr. Jimenez is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography and Advanced Heart Failure, and Cardiac Transplantation. He is a Fellow member of the American College of Cardiology and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He is currently a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, the Heart Failure Society of America and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
